Lots happens in the radio industry each week so hears a summery of the week we just enjoyed.
Here’s what happened
FM104 apologised this week after they made jokes about a child in there long running kids in the car segment. This brings up the question, how should stations make sure incidents like this don’t happen again? How do presenters balance perceived entertainment value with the duty of care to listeners? It’s a big area and feel free to share your views on our Twitter.
President Michael D.Higgins spoke about community radio this week to celebrate community radio day. He spoke of being involved in issuing the first community radio licenses, and said lots of other nice things too.
And finally this week RTE have confirmed the return date for the new series of documentary on one. The new series of radio documentaries kicks off on Sunday the 11th of July and you can listen to documentary episodes on the Friday before they air using the Doc On One podcast feed.
And that is the summery for this week. Come back to radio land next week for more radio news📻 and be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram for extra stories.
