Beat 102 103 in the south east turns 18 on Thursday July 1st and the station has not one, but two big prizes to celebrate their birthday. At 11:59AM Friday all of Ireland’s independent radio stations as well as Radio 1 and 2FM simultaneously broadcast Rainbow Blood, a poem standing in solidarity with Ireland’s LGBTIQ+ community. The broadcast was organised by Belong To Youth Services. Well done to all involved🏳️‍🌈

Finally this week, a new report from Reuters says that 6% of people in Ireland frequently visit the website of their local radio station. More concerning though is findings that say there has been a drop of 4% in people using radio as their main source of news. How do you think we can improve this? Share your views on our Twitter.
