This Week In Radio 22/5/2021

Lots happens in the radio industry each weak so hears a summery of the week we just enjoyed.

Here’s what happened

There’s been two big fundraisers in the industry this week with the 96fm radiothon taking place in cork and an insane running challenge by 98fm’s Brian Maher in Dublin. Radiothon is raising money for five cork cancer services while Brian is running for a straight 24 hours for special olimpics Ireland. You can read about each event and donate using the links below.

Pat Kenny has signed a new two year contract with Newstalk. This means he will remain at the station untill at least 75. For details on this check out our Twitter. On the RTÉ side, Lyric FM presenter Marty Whelan said this week he can’t afford to retire.

Finally this week Iradio has a new breakfast show. Iradio in the morning with Cooper and Kayte is the final bit of the puzzle after the station made a few adjustments to the schedule in recent months. very best of luck on the new show from us at Radio Land.
