Lots happens in the radio industry each week so here’s a summary of the week we just enjoyed.
Here’s what happened
RTE had their new season launch this week which had a few small radio updates. What’s more interesting on the RTÉ front this week though is that The 2 Johnnies were filling in on 2FM. I had a listen on Monday and Tuesday and I must say they really fit the station format very well. RTE need to look at something more permanent for the lads as they’re a great double act.

Rosses community Radio in Donegal is looking for a new home as the premises they were using is no longer available. Station Director Carol Ann Webb spoke to Donegal News about the issue.
“The station is made possible by the 34 volunteers we have here who are driven by nothing more than their love of radio, love of music and their desire to give something back to the community. As you can imagine, all our hearts are broken by what has happened.”

And finally this week, everyone knows This TikTok song. Well that’s how Every program director might feel for a while as TikTok radio has just launched. With Viral hits hosted by TikTok stars, it could create challenges for traditional stations. The service is operated by SiriusXM.
